The policy shall be directed towards the following:
- To instill in the youth a deep awareness of and respect for the principles and values enshrined in our Constitution and a willingness to further the rule of law.
- To promote among the youth the awareness of our historical and cultural heritage and inculcate them with a sense of pride and national identify.
- To help develop in the youth qualities of discipline, self-reliance, justice and fair-play.
- To provide the youth with maximum access to education in addition to developing their all around personality.
- To make the youth aware of international issues and involve them in promoting world peace.
The National Youth Policy, 2003 reiterates the commitment of the entire nation to the composite and all-round development of the young sons and daughters of India and seeks to establish an All-India perspective to fulfill their legitimate aspirations so that they are all strong of heart and strong of body and mind in successfully accomplishing the challenging tasks of national reconstruction and social changes that lie ahead.
